7 ---- First full day in sunny London

First full day in sunny London:

What a wonderful day we had today. After a full English breakfast (bacon; sausages; eggs; baked beans and toast) we set off through the traffic to Westminster Abbey, which is about a thousand years old. Our guides Monique and Peter led us through the magnificent church and showed us Poets' Corner. We walked on the tombstones of famous people, including Darwin; and W.H. Auden; admired the tombs of Elizabeth the First and Mary Queen of Scots, and looked into a mirror to marvel at the ceiling in Lady Chapel. All the kings and queens of England have been crowned here.

We had lunch and walked across the river on the Millenium bridge (the Wibbly Wobbly Bridge) to the Tate museum to look at some modern art. WOW.

Some people went shopping and walking around in the sunshine; some went to Covent Garden and some went t0 the pub. We won't say who...

Then off we all went to the Silver Cross to enjoy a real English pub dinner and a sing-a-long (we sang songs together).

By the time we got home, it was quite late and everyone was ready for a bath and bed!
